1-5 October 2018. 3rd Transnational Activity in Sofía
From October 1 to 5, 2018, the Third Transnational Activity of our project, European Olympics, took place in Sofia, Bulgaria. During those days, 24 students from Oz Zadrovova (Ljubljana) Fernando do Po (Bombarral) Neofit Bozveli (Sofia) and IES Rodríguez Moñino (Badajoz) along with eight professors from different countries, had the opportunity to share experiences, carry out the activities envisaged in our project and learn from other cultures in a meeting that surely have drawn unforgettable life lessons.
October 1st. Monday
The first day we were warmly welcomed in the Bulgarian school by the head mistress of and by the youngest students of the school, who offered us a program full of different artistic activities.
After the welcome, we enjoyed a guided tour around Sofia. During the tour, we had the opportunity to visiting the most emblematic monuments of the city, the huge avenues, the theatres, the Russian church and the imposing Alexander Nevski Cathedral.

October 2nd. Tuesday
On Tuesday, the 2nd we made a trip to the city of Plovdiv. We discovered its monuments and the traces that ancient civilizations had left in History.
With a guide we discovered the ethnographic museum, the Duzmaya mosque and the impressive amphitheater, so similar to ours in Mérida.
October 3rd. Wednesday
On Wednesday 3rd we celebrated the Olympic day at the Neofit Bozveli school. Our students shared the values we aimed in our project. We also had the invaluable presence of two renowned Bulgarian sportspeople: the Olympic medalist in Volleyball in the 1976 Olympics Verka Stoianova and the famous gymnast Jordan Jovtchev, who with their speeches encouraged our students to persevere in the achievement of their dreams and to maintain the Olympic spirit in all facets of their lives.
After the parade of standard-bearers, the students practiced different sports activities after which the two invited Olympic medallists rewarded them with medals for participation.
As in the previous Transnational Activities, the students also made the presentations they had prepared on the topics of the host country.
On the same day, the Bulgarian parents entertained teachers and students with typical dishes from their country in a friendly and close encounter.
October 4th Thursday
On Thursday the 4th we did a horse riding activity in Konna Baza Zdravets where our students could approach the horses and ride them with instructors in a closed circuit.
After the activity with the horses and as part of the activities stablished in our project, we made a route through the beautiful Bulgarian forests in the Vitosha natural park.
October 5th Friday
On the last day of our visit, on Friday the 5th, students received certificates of attendance. The teachers had the opportunity to hold a follow-up meeting of the project.
On the same day we also visited the exhibition center of Bulgarian sports achievements in Sofia and after a tour through the park "Borisova Garden" the students carried out a multi-adventure activity in a park called Kokolandia.
At the end of the day, the teachers had dinner at a typical Bulgarian restaurant, enlivened by music and dances typical of the country.
