HEALTHY HICKING ALONG THE RIVER BANKS OF BADAJOZ

(GUADIANA AND RIVILLA-CALAMÓN)

On the occasion of the celebration of World Obesity Day (November 12th ) and World Diabetes Day (November 14th ), on Wednesday November 14th  and Thursday, November 15th , we held, a walking route along the riversides of the Guadiana and Rivilla-Calamón rivers with the students of 1st of ESO A, B and E, and 1st of ESO C and D respectively, with the aim of promoting healthy living habits through physical exercise and healthy eating.

During the tour, sightings of waterfowl and observation of mushrooms were carried out.

We also approach the "peak of the Guadiana" to see the remains of the retired Camalote and raise awareness of the effects of invasive species on ecosystems.

There was also a climb to the Alcazaba and the Plaza Alta, where we had a healthy breakfast, free of industrial pastries and sugary drinks.

The activity, organized by the Department of Biology and Geology, is part of the Erasmus + "European Olympics" Project that is being developed at the school since the 2017-18 academic year.
