LJUBLJANA. ESLOVENIA
FIRST TRANSNATIONAL LEARNING ACTIVITY
From March 19 to 24, 2018, the first Transnational Learning Activity took place in Ljubljana (Slovenia). We were welcomed by the parents, students and teachers of the Oz Zadrobova School, who gave us the opportunity to live wonderful experiences in a new Erasmus Plus adventure that neither students nor teachers will forget.
MONDAY 19TH MARCH
On Monday the 19th we were surprised by the snow outside the school. But soon we forgot the cold temperatures of the outside thanks to the warm welcome that the choir of the school offered us.
After the music, and after a careful presentation about Slovenia that the students themselves had prepared, students from Bulgaria, Portugal and Spain made presentations on Slovenia. It was our intention to make students think about the topics that each one of us has about the countries that are going to host us. At the end of the visit, with better knowledge of the country and its people, we would evaluate if those topics were true or not.
After the presentations of our students we went to the centre of Ljubljana, where we could enjoy the city. A guide was waiting for us. Thanks to him we knew the streets of this beautiful city, the splendour of its monuments and its history.
The day ended with a reception from the parents who welcomed the students from the partner countries in Oz Zadróvoba. It had been a tiring day but that did not prevent us from enjoying the typical dishes that the families had prepared in our honour.
TUESDAY 20TH MARCH
On Tuesday the 20th it was dedicated to different sports competitions that Oz Zadrovoba's teachers had designed for our students. First and foremost, group work, well-understood competition and above all, a sense of humour prevailed. The students were grouped by teams and each team was made up of boys and girls from different countries. In the end, everyone got a medal.
WEDNESDAY 21ST MARCH
On the 21st we visited the Olympic Centre of the Slovenian capital. We realized then the large number of Slovenian athletes who had obtained Olympic medals as well as those who are currently preparing to obtain them. They welcomed us with a talk in which they stressed the importance of maintaining the Olympic spirit throughout life. After the talk, our students were able to enjoy some of the recreational activities offered by the institution.
THURSDAY 22ND MARCH
On Thursday morning we went by bus to Planica Ski Jumping. A ski jump track where we had the opportunity to watch a live jumping competition. Interestingly we saw how one of the jumpers beat the world record. Unfortunately, it was not considered valid because it touched the snow with the tips of the fingers when jumping. That, at least, is what the judges said.
After the competition we made an unforgettable route through the snowy forests to a cabin in the middle of the snow called Tamar. The weather, usually unpleasant in the area, gave us a break that day and the sun shone throughout the day, which allowed us to enjoy the snow at our leisure.
FRIDAY 23RD MARCH
On Friday the 23rd, the students took a cycling course with one of Slovenia's most experienced cyclist outside the school.
The teachers, however, held a follow-up meeting of the project in which we began to prepare the following Transnational Activities, received the corresponding certificates, and signed the minutes in which the agreements were specified.
The morning ended after the celebration of the logo contest. Each country presented a design created by its students.
These photos show some of the moments we have lived in this international adventure. Other instants without photos will remain forever in our memory. The landscapes, the city and above all, the human warmth of Slovenian colleagues.
Tina, Miha, Tomi, thank you very much.
